UTEP President serves as member of National Science Board

Heather Wilson, the president of UTEP, has been appointed to the National Science Board (NSB), which oversees the National Science Foundation. As a member of the NSB, she is responsible for reviewing and approving grant proposals, including those submitted by her own university.

Recently, concerns were raised about a grant proposal submitted by UTEP’s Aerospace Center. The NSB instructed UTEP to halt work on the project until further notice. When reached for comment, a spokesperson for UTEP confirmed that Wilson was aware of the situation and was actively working to address the concerns raised by the NSF.
