The top performers in high school sports during Week 9 of the 2024 season have made significant contributions to their teams. On Monday, in baseball, Jennifer McGregory of Bartlett had two hits in a 10-6 victory over ECS, while Molly Williams went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Hannah Wilson was the winning pitcher for Bartlett. In softball, Ashlyn Bartholomew of Arlington went 2-for-3 with two runs scored in an 8-7 victory against Munford. Gabby Brewer was the winning pitcher for Arlington, while Breleigh Bunker had two hits. Addie Graham of Arlington had an impressive game, going 4-for-4 with a homer, two RBIs, and four runs scored.
On Tuesday, in baseball, Caleb Doty of Lausanne was the winning pitcher, allowing three hits in five innings and going 3-for-3 with three RBIs in a 10-0 victory over ECS. Larry Hampton of Trezevant had a standout game, going 3-for-3 with a homer and six RBIs in a 20-4 win against East. Damarious Reed and Preston Reed of Trezevant also made significant contributions with RBIs and runs scored. In softball, Laney Lawson of Brighton was the winning pitcher, striking out eight in six innings in a 4-0 victory over St Benedict’s Academy (SBA). Lola Sprenkle and Addie Thorpe of Tipton Rosemark Academy (TRA) also had notable performances with hits and RBIs.
In girls lacrosse on Tuesday night at St Benedict’s stadium (SBA), Hannah Burton scored four goals; Gaby Caron one goal; Savannah Markham one goal; all for St Benedict’s team that beat White Station by seven points (15 -8).
