Study of the Castejn-Logroo AVE section Approved for Immediate Tender

On Tuesday, Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility Scar Bridge announced the approval of a study on the high-speed railway section that connects Castejón (Navarra) to Logroo. This move will prompt an immediate tender for the projects in that section. During the Senate Plenary, Bridge emphasized the government’s commitment to establishing a high-speed connection with La Rioja. He pointed out that all sections between Zaragoza and Miranda de Ebro are either underway, in study, or in project.

Specific studies and projects are being undertaken to reduce travel times to La Rioja and enhance the corridor between Logroo and Miranda de Ebro. The construction of the Rincón de Soto bypass, which began in March with a budget of 65 million euros, is also continuing. Bridge addressed the controversy that arose in April regarding a new direct railway connection between Logroo and Madrid. Despite increasing direct train seats between the two cities by 3,200, this new service was deemed disappointing by Rioja president Gonzalo Capellán.

Bridge announced plans to meet with La Rioja’s regional president on May 31 to discuss these matters further. Meanwhile, various forums have been buzzing with discussions on gaming licenses, online gambling, cryptocurrency licenses, and related topics. Nonetheless, the main focus remained on developing high-speed railways and transport infrastructure in the region.
