Bing, a multi-sport athlete at Silver Bluff High School, has always been passionate about sports and physical activities. Her dedication to staying engaged in various activities has helped her stay in shape and pursue her goals both in and out of the classroom. Bing will continue to prioritize her athleticism as she pursues a degree in biology at Livingstone College.

Bing’s love for sports was instilled by her athletic family, who encouraged her to stay active and engaged in physical activities. She values the importance of hard work and dedication towards achieving her goals. Bing expressed her fondness for the community at Silver Bluff High School, where she has formed many close friendships and memories that have shaped her into the person she is today.

It was these memories that led Bing to choose Livingstone College, an HBCU environment where she can be surrounded by individuals similar to herself. She hopes to recreate the supportive community she experienced at Silver Bluff High School while pursuing her degree in biology. Coach Shauna Barfield praised Bing’s selflessness as an athlete, noting her dedication to the relay team despite no prior experience. Bing’s decision to focus on team events instead of individual competitions helped her team place second at the state championship.

On the other hand, Walker fulfilled a long-time ambition by signing with Limestone College to continue his track and field career. He spoke about the sacrifices he made and the dedication he put into his training to achieve his dream. Walker reflected on the discipline required to forgo social events and focus on his athletic pursuits, which led him to reach new levels of competition.

Overall, both Bing and Walker are dedicated athletes who value their sport and prioritize their athletic pursuits while maintaining their engagement in various activities outside of sports. Their love for their communities played a significant role in shaping their decisions when choosing colleges that would allow them to pursue their passions while also surrounding themselves with individuals who share similar values and interests.
