The World Athletics Relays Bahamas 2024 will feature a total of 32 teams competing in the men’s 4x400m relay, 27 teams in the women’s 4x400m relay, and 30 teams in the mixed 4x400m relay. India will be represented in all three races at the event.
India’s men’s 4x400m relay team includes eight athletes, including Amoj Jacob, Muhammad Anas Yahiya, Muhammad Ajmal, and Rajesh Ramesh, who won gold at the Asian Games in this event at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games. Other members of the team are Arokia Rajiv, Noah Nirmal Tom, Yashas Palaksha, and Avinash Krishna Kumar.
In the women’s 4x400m relay race for India, there will be a seven-member team led by MR Poovamma. The other members of this team are Vithya Ramraj, Aishwarya Mishra, Subha Venkatesan, Jyothika Sri Dandi and Rupal.
India’s mixed 4x400m relay team will include athletes like Vithya Ramraj, Rajesh Ramesh, Jyothika Sri Dandi, Amoj Jacob, Rupal and Yashas Palaksha.
All other teams will have their chance to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on day two of the event. The top two teams in each heat will advance to compete for medals on May third. Start lists will be published on May third with final team line-ups to be confirmed closer to the event.
