The Bakersfield Women’s Business Conference held its 34th annual event with the theme “Making the Impossible Possible”. This year, the conference focused on resilience, innovation, and determination, drawing thousands of attendees. Over the years, the conference has served as a platform for women to come together for a day of empowerment and enrichment.
The keynote speaker at this year’s event was Marlee Matlin, an Academy-Award-Winning actress, author, and activist. She shared her insights on achieving success and overcoming challenges. Attendees were also inspired by Mari Perez-Dowling, CEO of United Way of Central Eastern California, who delivered a powerful closing message.
The conference took place at the Mechanic’s Bank Convention Center in downtown Bakersfield. Doors opened at 7:30 a.m., and attendees had the opportunity to explore various vendors and workshops throughout the day until it concluded at 4:30 p.m. Eyewitness News Mornings reporter Tony Salazar provided a preview of the event beforehand, highlighting the exciting lineup of speakers and activities.
