Instagram is set to launch a new program called Creator AI, which will enable influencers to engage with their followers through direct messages on the platform. The program is expected to expand to comments in the future and will deliver an AI-driven chatbot that mimics the influencer’s voice and possibly creates an avatar to automatically respond to fans in a more personal and authentic manner.
The chatbot will be powered by artificial intelligence technology, which will help influencers with large followings stay connected with their fans while reducing the pressure of responding to a high volume of messages and comments. The majority of messages sent through the platform will be automated, clearly stating that they are AI-generated responses.
Ava Chen, Instagram’s director of fashion collaborations, has introduced the project to content creators, although it remains unclear whether the program will be widely available or limited to specific network influencers and celebrities with substantial audiences. Content creators will have the option to select the data Meta uses to imitate their expressions and create a virtual persona that interacts with fans based on past responses and engagement.
Meta representatives have declined to comment on the specifics of the program or its potential reach. However, this initiative marks a significant step towards enhancing engagement and communication channels between influencers and their followers in a more efficient and personalized manner.
