The Jets have announced that they will retain coach Robert Saleh and General Manager Joe Douglas for the upcoming 2024 season. However, there have been some changes made to their sports performance and sports science staff. According to reports from ESPN.com, director of high performance Brad DeWeese is no longer with the organization, while assistant director of high performance Robert Sausaman and director of sports science Matt Sams have also left the team after joining when Saleh became the coach in 2021.
Despite these departures, the team has added older tackles Tyron Smith and Morgan Moses to improve the offensive line’s performance. Keeping these players on the field will be crucial for a successful 2024 season. The team’s website now lists Alexander Carnall as the sports science coordinator, but there have been no new additions on the performance side of things.
The Jets are making changes to their sports performance and sports science staff in an effort to minimize injuries and improve player performance. While some key personnel have left the organization, the team is working hard to ensure that they have the support they need for a successful season ahead.
