Johnson City’s softball team secured their position as one of the top teams in the league with a thrilling 6-5 win over Susquehanna Valley. The Wildcats scored three runs in the sixth inning, starting with Tina Stanton’s home run. Lori Czeitner and Brenda Mott also scored in the inning, with Cris Charpinsky hitting a two-out double to bring them home.
Meanwhile, Union-Endicott’s softball team continued their impressive streak with a win in extra innings against Seton Catholic Central. The Tigers were behind 3-0 but managed to tie the game with three runs in the fifth inning. Ultimately, they won 4-3 in the ninth, thanks to Lisa Jones’ sacrifice fly that scored Lisa Lamey who had advanced to third on Michelle Wolf’s bunt for a single. At that point, the team’s collective batting average was .344, with Caren Osier leading the team with a .529 average.
