Lamborghini unveiled the Urus SE, a new generation of its popular luxury super SUV, at the Volkswagen Group Media Night on April 24 before making it public at the Auto China Beijing 2024 motor show. This new model, known as the Urus SE, is the first luxury super SUV to feature a PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) powertrain. It boasts a sleek design, optimized aerodynamics, advanced onboard technologies and an impressive 800 CV output. The Urus SE sets a new benchmark in the segment for comfort, performance, efficiency, emissions and driving pleasure.
In addition to the Urus SE, Lamborghini is also showcasing two other vehicles at the Auto China Beijing show – the Revuelto and Huracán Tecnica. The Revuelto is a super sports V12 hybrid HPEV that offers high-performance electric power alongside traditional gasoline engines. The Huracán Tecnica is a rear-wheel drive super sports car powered by a V10 engine. Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini expressed his excitement about presenting these latest achievements at such an important event in the automotive industry.
Winkelmann reflected on Lamborghini’s history in Beijing, noting that twelve years ago he presented the Urus concept car at the same event which led to the creation of a new segment of super sports SUVs. The Urus has since become one of Lamborghini’s most successful models and serves as its third pillar in its lineup. Winkelmann emphasized that this latest model represents the next chapter in Lamborghini’s success story and marks a significant step forward in their electrification plan called ‘Direzione Cor Tauri.’
