Larian Studios confirms two new projects in lieu of “Baldur’s Gate 4”

Larian Studios has announced that they will not be working on a sequel to “Baldur’s Gate 3,” instead, they are focusing on two new independent projects. The team behind the game is currently working on their next update, Patch 7, which will address bugs, improve evil endings and introduce new modification tools. They also plan to add cross-play and a photo mode in the future. However, there will be no continuation of the story through a new narrative, expansion or sequel.

Since its release in August of last year, “Baldur’s Gate 3” has been recognized in main video game awards and solidified as a success for Larian Studios. The game is inspired by Dungeons and Dragons and offers an open world for players to explore freely, adapting the lore of the popular role-playing game into a story where player decisions affect the characters and outcomes.

The development of “Baldur’s Gate 3” has paved the way for Larian Studios’ future endeavors. The studio expressed excitement about their new projects and confirmed that there will be no “Baldur’s Gate 4.” This decision has allowed Larian Studios to explore new creative avenues and expand their horizons beyond the realm of fantasy role-playing games.
