Lithium mining is booming in Argentina, driven by the demand for the resource in the electromobility industry. This has led to a need for new job profiles in the mining sector. According to Randstad, a global human resources company, some of the positions with the highest demand include industrial, electromechanical, and chemical engineers, geologists, graduates in environmental studies, project managers, occupational health and safety specialists, probe controllers, and technicians specializing in various areas related to lithium mining.
With over 50 lithium mining projects currently underway in provinces such as Salta, Jujuy, and Catamarca, Argentina’s vast lithium reserves make it a key player in the production of this strategic resource for various industries. The “lithium triangle” comprised of Argentina, Bolivia and Chile account for 46% of the world’s lithium reserves as per United States Geological Survey (USGS).
