Sarah Reynosa, owner of Fuego Street Tacos, is one of several business owners who recently left Reno Public Market. Reynosa claims that the property’s high rent was the driving force behind her decision to vacate. Despite raising her concerns with RPM management, she was met with the suggestion that she was mismanaging her business. Reynosa insists that this is not the case and that the high rent made it impossible for her to sustain her business.
In an effort to keep costs down, Reynosa and her team worked tirelessly, even reducing staff and seeking the best prices for food. However, despite their efforts, they ultimately could not afford the rent. One of the suggestions given by RPM management to Reynosa was to increase prices at her establishment so that she could cover the rent.
Reno Public Market opened its doors last year and has already seen turnover in merchants as businesses may be testing new concepts. The property management acknowledges that customer preferences are constantly evolving and are committed to evaluating new experiences and offerings to meet these changing needs. They released a statement expressing appreciation for all businesses that have partnered with them and those who are planning to join, making Reno Public Market a destination for dining, shopping, and entertainment. The property management did not comment on individual businesses publicly out of respect for the merchants.
