A video captured a man in the act of committing a lewd act at a busy intersection near a youth football field in Travis, Staten Island. The incident occurred around 6:00 pm on a Thursday when kids were gathering for football practice.
The man, who was wearing only a black hoodie and glasses, approached the intersection of Travis Avenue and South Avenue. Parents at the football practice quickly ushered him away from the field, but it is unclear if he had already approached the field before or after the scene captured in the video.
The footage shows the man walking southbound on South Avenue and interacting with a black car in the turning lane. He mounted the hood of the car, dragged his buttocks against the windshield, and sprawled out with his legs spread open. He appeared to be laughing as he slid off the hood of the vehicle. Emergency responders were called to the scene, but it is unknown where he was taken.
The NYPD and FDNY did not have any information about the emergency response. The incident is concerning and highlights the need for vigilance in public spaces to ensure the safety of individuals, especially near areas where children are present.
According to eyewitnesses, there were several people present at that time who saw what happened but didn’t know what to do or how to react.
