For the past two decades, Mercer County has been home to the Mercer Health 5K Challenge series. This popular event offers individuals of all ages a chance to push themselves physically and form lasting friendships.
In the upcoming 2024 events, participants aged 14 and under will have free entry for all seven MH5K races. While the entry fee covers the races, individual 5K shirts can be purchased separately. Bundle registration is also available, allowing participants to sign up for all seven events at a discounted price of $90, essentially entering all races for the cost of six.
Each 5K event will have a unique theme to add an extra element of fun. The themes for each race are as follows: Zuma Days – Hawaiian/Luau, Country Fest – Pool Party, Redskin Classic – Patriotic, Shanes Crossing – Christmas in July, St. Clair – Neon Florescent, Lake Festival – Super Heroes, and Buzzard’s Glory – The Olympics.
Online registration is currently open for all of these events. With online registration, participants can receive text notifications of their finish times and ensure accurate data entry. Alternatively, registration can also be done in person on the day of the race. By completing at least five of the seven challenge events, participants will earn a Mercer Health 5K Challenge running tech shirt and be eligible for age group awards at the end of the series.
Runners and walkers of all levels are welcome to join the Challenge series, whether it’s for experienced athletes or individuals seeking motivation to be more active. Parents are encouraged to make use of the “Kids 14 and under running for free” offer and get their children involved in the series. To take advantage of the discounted rate
