RATP metro drivers could receive up to 2,500 euros in bonuses for the 2024 Olympic Games

The majority of unions at RATP have reached an agreement with management on bonuses for employees working during the Olympics, according to a press release from FO-RATP. The 19,000 employees who were mobilized during the summer will receive answers to their requests for compensation.

According to the documents, agents of the “metro transport services” (MTS) department, including the 3,000 metro drivers, will be able to receive a bonus of up to 2,500 euros if they meet certain criteria. To obtain this amount, they must not be absent for more than four days between July 22 and September 8. The bonus drops to 1,600 euros if an employee is absent for more than four days.

The agreement also includes bonuses for exceptional events and other benefits such as bonuses for postponing untaken leave to 2024. The final cost of these bonuses will be calculated at the end of the year.

In another press release, CGT-RATP listed the results obtained for various professions within the organization. For example, switchers, drivers, operational managers, regulators, and security agents will receive bonuses provided they meet certain criteria. Negotiations for bus drivers and station agents are expected to be concluded soon.

The bonuses allocated to other sectors such as police and AP-HP are already known. The bonuses for police and air traffic controllers have also been announced. The overall budget for increased transport offer during the Games is estimated to be €250 million with additional revenue expected from Olympic passes sold to visitors. Free transport was initially promised when Paris applied to host the Games in 2017 but was not within budget due to organizing committee’s explanation. Bonuses given to agents working during the Games in various sectors will vary depending on their categories and responsibilities. To finance additional costs IDFM is relying on revenues generated from Olympic passes sold to visitors.

Additional benefits include bonuses for vacation taken during specific periods and an increase in usual bonus for air traffic controllers.

Overall, this agreement marks a significant step towards ensuring that workers at RATP are fairly compensated for their efforts during one of Paris’ most important events in recent history.

Accordingly, we can say that FO-RATP has reached an agreement with management on compensation packages that were requested by union representatives from RATP’s MTS department employees including metro drivers who worked through three months before Olympics
