The MetroHealth System is set to host its Men’s Health Fair this year at two locations on Saturday, providing attendees with a range of free health screenings, education, and career resources. Taking place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the fair will be held at the Alex B. Johnson Center at the Cuyahoga Community College Metropolitan Campus and at MetroHealth’s Cleveland Heights Medical Center. Registration is encouraged but walk-ins are welcome, and shuttle services will be available from various locations in Cleveland.
Last year’s fair saw concerning statistics with high percentages of attendees showing signs of health issues such as high cholesterol and blood sugar levels, as well as abnormal PSA levels indicating an elevated risk of prostate cancer. Those identified with potential health concerns were able to connect with a MetroHealth provider for follow-up care. Dr. Charles Modlin, a urologist and MetroHealth’s vice president and chief health equity officer, emphasized the importance of prioritizing health and recognizing that everyone deserves the opportunity for a long and healthy life. The Men’s Health Fair aims to make a positive impact on the lives of participants and ultimately save lives through early detection and intervention.
