Miami Dolphins receive high marks in 2024 NFL Draft for bolstering offensive and defensive lines and adding new playmakers

The Miami Dolphins had a successful draft, with their first-round pick of potential 10-sack edge rusher Chop Robinson setting the tone. In the second round, they selected offensive tackle Patrick Paul, who has exceptional athleticism and is just starting to showcase his true potential. Although their trade-up for Jaylen Wright in the fourth round was perplexing, overall they acquired a good group of players. Wide receivers Malik Washington and Tahj Washington have the potential to compete for playing time behind Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.

My favorite pick from the Dolphins’ draft was Patrick Paul, an offensive tackle from Houston. With his raw talent, he has the ability to become a consistent NFL tackle and make impressive plays in head coach Mike McDaniel’s offense. This prospect-to-team match seems destined for success.

On the other hand, my least favorite pick was Jaylen Wright, the running back from Tennessee taken in the fourth round. While speed is a priority for Coach McDaniel, Wright may not be the ideal replacement for De’Von Achane when Raheem Mostert eventually moves on. Wright struggles with vision and running between the tackles, so McDaniel may need to see that not all fast running backs are equal.
