As a 7-foot-1 center, Vladislav Goldin has been a key player for Florida Atlantic in his three seasons under head coach Dusty May. During that time, he has averaged 15.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game. With only one season of eligibility left, Goldin is expected to bring low-post scoring and pick-and-roll capabilities to the Wolverines in his final year of college basketball.
Goldin’s decision to play for Michigan comes after playing three successful seasons with May at FAU. He began his college career at Texas Tech before transferring to FAU. The loss of scoring and defensive presence when Hunter Dickinson transferred to Kansas made Goldin’s commitment all the more valuable for the Wolverines as they look to overhaul their men’s basketball program under new leadership.
Joining Goldin in this effort are transfers from other schools like Danny Wolf from Yale, Tre Donaldson from Auburn, Sam Walters from Alabama, Roddy Gayle Jr. from Ohio State, and Rubin Jones from North Texas. In addition to these players, Michigan secured a commitment from Justin Pippen, son of basketball legend Scottie Pippen.
By committing to Michigan and withdrawing his name from consideration for the 2024 NBA Draft, Goldin has shown his focus on helping lead the Wolverines to success under Coach May in his final season of college basketball.
