Michigan Tech track and field runner Sam Lange recently set a season-best time in the 1,500m race at the Phil Esten Challenge in La Crosse, Wisconsin, earning him the title of GLIAC Track Athlete of the Week. This accomplishment marks his first time receiving this honor during his career at Michigan Tech.
Hailing from Washington, Illinois, Lange maintained his undefeated streak with an impressive performance at the Phil Esten Challenge. He clocked an NCAA Provisional qualifying time of 3:48.38 in the 1,500m event, which was also his fourth victory of the outdoor season.
Looking ahead to the future, Lange and his teammates are preparing for the upcoming GLIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Grand Valley State. The championships are set to take place on May 1-3 and will provide a platform for Lange to showcase his talents and continue his successful season.
