Midland Valley’s softball team faced Easley in a pivotal elimination game on Wednesday night, determined to advance in the tournament. The delayed game from the previous day had added an extra layer of frustration to their already tense season. But they were ready to take on Easley and show them what they were made of.
The Mustangs began by scoring four runs in the first two innings, thanks to their impressive offensive performance. Their excellent pitching and defense only allowed one hit from Easley throughout the game. Pitchers Karley Bedenbaugh and Larue Hicks were outstanding on the mound, with solid defensive efforts from the team behind them.
On offense, Midland Valley was unstoppable, with 10 hits in total. Bailey Seabolt stood out with a perfect 4-for-4 at-bat, while other players like Haley Thornsberry, Addison Haltiwanger, Jordan Nelson, and Anslee Heath also contributed with hits and RBIs. The team’s resilient performance in the face of elimination was evident as they rallied back from setbacks to secure crucial victories.
Coach Katie Anderson praised her team’s attitude and determination, noting that they were not ready to back down even after waiting an extra night for the game. It was clear that Midland Valley was fully focused on advancing in the tournament. The win set them up for another important game against Airport scheduled for the following evening.
