The crew member, from India, was reported missing off Cape Finisterre, Spain shortly after breakfast while on Ambassador Cruise Line’s Ambience ship. The ship was on its final journey from Lisbon, Portugal back to the UK and had departed from Tilbury, Essex on January 6th.
The Ambience ship can carry 1,400 guests and is the flagship of Ambassador Cruise Line, which is headquartered in Purfleet, Essex. The ship has stops at various countries on its Grand Round The World Cruise voyage, including New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, and Brazil. It was due to return to the UK on Sunday morning but the arrival time has been delayed until the evening due to the incident.
