Australia Announces T20 World Cup Squad, Big Names Omitted

Australia’s T20I team has been led by Mitchell Marsh for the past year as an interim captain, but the upcoming T20 World Cup will mark his first major tournament as the official skipper. Marsh is thrilled to have this opportunity and considers it a great honor to represent his country and lead the squad in a World Cup.

Recently, the team has seen some impressive success, and Marsh is optimistic that they will continue to perform well in what is expected to be a competitive tournament. The T20 World Cup starts on June 5th with Australia facing off against Oman in Barbados. After that, they will play England, Namibia, and Scotland in Group B.

The squad for the tournament includes players like Ashton Agar, Pat Cummins, David Warner, and Glenn Maxwell, among others. Teams have until May 25th to make changes to their squad; any alterations after that date will need approval from the ICC’s Event Technical Committee. Marsh and his team are fully prepared for the challenge and are determined to leave their mark on the T20 World Cup.
