On April 25, a minor was sexually assaulted at the Museum of Science and Industry (MSI) in the 3rd District. The incident occurred between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., at the museum located on DuSable Lake Shore Drive. According to police reports, the minor was separated from her group when an offender approached her and offered help.
The offender then took the minor to the second floor of MSI where she requested to use the restroom. While in the restroom, the offender entered her stall, touched her inappropriately, and fled when she kicked him. The offender is described as a male between 30-40 years old, standing at 5-foot-10 to 6-foot-3 inches tall, with a light complexion, medium build, curly light brown hair, colored eyes, a beard, and a tattoo of a roaring lion on his neck. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a light blue shirt, blue vest, blue jeans, and black gym shoes.
A spokesperson for MSI expressed concern for visitor safety and assured cooperation with the Chicago Police Department during their investigation into the incident. If anyone has any information about it, they are advised to contact the Bureau of Detectives Special Investigations Unit at (312)491-3810/3664.
