As governments and firms worldwide continue to expand their clean energy economies, there is a growing sense of urgency among policymakers to embrace clean technology manufacturing. In response to this need, the Energy Technology Perspectives Special Report has been designed to assist decision-makers in developing and evaluating their strategies for this sector.
The report recognizes that a one-size-fits-all approach is not feasible for clean technology manufacturing, which is why it outlines guiding principles to inform future planning. These principles were developed in response to a request from G7 Leaders in 2023 and draw on insights gathered during a High-level Dialogue on Diversifying Clean Technology Manufacturing held at the IEA headquarters in Paris in November of the same year.
In addition to these guiding principles, the report also leverages analysis conducted as part of the latest edition of the IEA’s flagship technology publication, Energy Technology Perspectives, as well as two Special Briefings on clean technology manufacturing throughout 2023. By drawing on these diverse sources of information, the Energy Technology Perspectives Special Report provides decision-makers with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing clean technology manufacturing today.
