Alabama recently added a standout big man, Clifford Omoruyi from Rutgers, to their roster for the 2024-25 season through the transfer portal. Ranked No. 13 in CBS Sports’ Transfer Rankings, Omoruyi is known for his shot-blocking abilities, having recorded 93 blocks before the NCAA Tournament throughout his four seasons at Rutgers.
In addition to Omoruyi, Alabama has brought in Aden Holloway from Auburn, Chris Youngblood from USF, and Houston Mallette from Pepperdine as part of their offseason recruiting efforts. This marks the fourth transfer that head coach Nate Oats and his staff have made this offseason.
With the departure of six players from their Final Four roster from the previous season, including Mohamed Wague, Nick Pringle, and Sam Walters, Alabama will have to adjust to a new lineup. However, with these transfers and an influx of new talent – including the No. 2 recruiting class from the 2024 cycle featuring top talents like five-star center Derrion Reid, four-star forward Aiden Sherrell, four-star guard Labaron Philon, and four-star forward Naas Cunningham – Alabama is set up for success in the upcoming season as they aim to build on their recent success.
