The Detroit Pistons are currently on the hunt for a new president of basketball operations, and Omari Sankofa II, Detroit Pistons beat writer for the Free Press, discusses the team’s search for new leadership in his latest podcast episode of “The Pistons Pulse.”
Meanwhile, there will be a new lineup of voices on Detroit sports talk radio with the debut of a new radio format co-owned by former Free Press sports columnist Rob Parker on WXYT-AM (1270) on May 16. The radio lineup will feature local voices as well as one familiar face from metro Detroit, Lindsey Hunter, the former Detroit Pistons guard and member of the 2004 NBA championship team, who will co-host a show called “The Pitbulls” from 3-7 p.m. weekdays with Montezz Allen, a Detroit native with experience in sports media.
In addition to “The Pitbulls,” the radio lineup will include Parker’s national radio show, “The Odd Couple,” co-hosted by Fox Sports pundit Chris Broussard, airing weeknights from 7-10 p.m. Former NBA All-Star player and current player agent B.J. Armstrong, a co-owner of the radio endeavor, will also host his own show from 10 a.m.-noon weekdays. The noon-3 p.m. slot will be covered by Michigan graduate and Fox Sports Radio host Martin Weiss and J.R. Gamble, a respected sports journalist with years of experience in the industry.
