New Zealand Squad for T20 World Cup 2024 Announced – Devon Conway Cleared to Play, Kane Williamson Named Captain

Kane Williamson has been appointed as the captain of New Zealand’s provisional 15-man squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup. Devon Conway, who was ruled out of the IPL due to an injury, has been included in the squad as well. Ben Sears has been named as the 16th traveling reserve in the squad, which also features experienced players like Tim Southee and Trent Boult.

Experienced players Rachin Ravindra and Matt Henry have also been included in the squad, making it a strong team with a mix of youth and experience. Adam Milne is unavailable due to ankle surgery, while Kyle Jamieson continues his recovery from a stress fracture in his lower back.

Gary Stead, coach of the team, expressed his satisfaction with the inclusion of players like Henry and Rachin Ravindra in the T20 format. He believes that the team has all bases covered and can adapt to various conditions in the West Indies, where the tournament will be held. Stead also expressed confidence that this will be a successful tour for New Zealand.
