Letter to the editor: Something needs to give at Santa Fe
As we look ahead to the future of the city, it’s clear that something needs to give. The current state of traffic congestion on Oak Street is simply unsustainable, and it’s time for a new approach. That’s why I’m excited about the launch of “Newton Open Streets” on Oak Street. This innovative program will transform the street into a pedestrian-only zone, allowing people to walk freely and safely through the heart of downtown Santa Fe.
I believe that this initiative will not only improve traffic flow but also promote a healthier lifestyle by encouraging people to get outside and walk more often. It will also create a more vibrant community by providing space for events and gatherings on Oak Street. I hope that this program will be successful in bringing positive change to our city, and I encourage everyone in Santa Fe to support it by walking through Oak Street during its designated hours.
