State SkillsUSA Competition: NCMC Team Takes First Place in Robotic Automation Technology

North Central Missouri College’s robotics automation technology team, consisting of Keaton Pettlon and Zachary Walker from Maryville, recently secured first place in the Missouri SkillsUSA Robotics Automation Technology Competition at State Tech in Linn. The team is under the guidance of Rick Sharp, an instructor at NCMC specializing in industrial technology.

Pettlon and Walker showcased their skills by completing their contest skill challenge in record time, becoming the only team to successfully complete it. Sharp commended them for their exceptional performance and stated that they are strong competitors with the potential to excel at the national level.

As a result of their success, Pettlon and Walker will now be competing among the top two percent of the nation in the Robotics Automation Technology contest. Sharp expressed confidence in their abilities and is optimistic about their prospects at the upcoming national conference.
