OpenAI adds memory feature to ChatGPT Plus, enabling conversation recollection

OpenAI has recently introduced a memory feature for its chatbot, ChatGPT Plus. This feature, powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI), enables users to request the chatbot to remember certain topics discussed in conversations for future reference. Users can manage which information the chatbot can remember and also ask it to forget certain details from past conversations.

The memory function is now available to all paid subscribers of ChatGPT Plus, enhancing their conversations and outcomes. With this feature, users can ask questions related to the stored data without having to repeat the information. For instance, users can ask the chatbot to generate an image of their pets surfing, and with the information stored in its memory, the chatbot will automatically create the image with the specified animals.

However, users located in European Union countries or Korea do not currently have access to this tool. OpenAI has implemented a notification feature that informs users when new data is saved in memory, displaying a ‘Memory updated’ message next to relevant information. Users can easily manage their memories by placing their cursor over the message and clicking on ‘Manage memories’ to review and delete any unwanted data.

The company has provided convenient access to all stored memories when updates are made, allowing users to review collected data at any time in settings. This enhancement aims to improve user experience and streamline the process of utilizing the memory feature in ChatGPT.

In summary, OpenAI’s introduction of a memory function for its chatbot ChatGPT Plus is set to revolutionize how people interact with AI-powered tools. The tool allows users to store information for future reference and generate images based on that information without repetition of information. However, not all regions have access yet; OpenAI plans on expanding its availability soon.
