According to sources, Ronald Acuna Jr. of the Braves is expected to sign with Rimas Sports, led by artist Bad Bunny, as his marketing and off-field business representative. However, the agency is facing disciplinary actions from the MLBPA after their agent William Arroyo had his license revoked, and two other employees pending certification will not receive their licenses. This leaves the agency with only one certified agent, Michael Velazquez, raising concerns about its long-term viability in baseball.
Acuna had previously worked with Xample for his marketing and branding but they are not listed as his agent at the MLBPA. His previous representation was Peter E. Greenberg and Associates who negotiated his contract extension which was acquired by Rep 1 Baseball in February 2020. When asked about this new development, Acuna stated that he had not signed with Rimas yet but indicated it was likely to happen soon. The exact reason for Rimas’ disciplinary action from the MLBPA remains unknown at this time.
