Ukraine Downs Russian Strategic Bomber in War’s First Incident of its Kind

A Tu-22 bomber crashed due to a technical fault and was not carrying any ammunition. The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed this information after the incident occurred. Meanwhile, in the Dnepropetrovsk region, at least nine people were killed in missile strikes, including three children. Most of the 22 missiles and 14 unmanned aerial vehicles launched during a Russian attack were shot down by the Ukrainian Air Force. However, some of the strikes hit near the Dnipro railway station, injuring workers.

Vladimir Vladimirov, governor of the Stavropol region, stated that all but one crew member managed to eject from the plane before it crashed. The fourth crew member is still missing and a search is ongoing for their whereabouts.
