Senator Ossoff has secured $139,000 in federal funding to establish a Mobile Integrated Health Care Program in Columbus and Muscogee County. This program will involve a partnership between a Fire-EMS paramedic and a nurse practitioner to provide appropriate medical care to chronic system users and disadvantaged residents.
The initiative was proposed by Mayor Skip Henderson and Fire/EMS Chief Sal Scarpa, who expressed their gratitude for Senator Ossoff’s leadership. The mobile health unit in Columbus aims to respond to emergencies and expand access to healthcare for the community.
Columbus Mayor B.H. “Skip” Henderson III thanked Senator Ossoff for making the program a reality, stating that it is an essential part of the Columbus Correct Care initiative, which provides the right resources to all residents in need. Scarpa also expressed gratitude for Senator Ossoff’s support in securing funds for the program, which will focus on high utilizers of the EMS system and provide necessary resources for emergency and non-emergency care to residents of Columbus, GA and Muscogee County.
