The Cowboys are making moves to strengthen their linebacker position by re-signing Damien Wilson, according to Todd Archer of ESPN. Wilson originally entered the NFL as a fourth-round pick of the Cowboys in 2015, spending his first four seasons in Dallas before moving to Kansas City, Jacksonville, and Carolina.
Despite serving a four-game suspension last season for violating the Personal Conduct Policy, Wilson is back in action. His last game was in Week 18 of the 2022 season with the Panthers. The Cowboys’ decision to re-sign Wilson comes just two days after drafting Marist Liufau in the third round, indicating a focus on strengthening their linebacker group.
The addition of Wilson marks the fourth outside free agent the Cowboys have added this offseason, joining Ezekiel Elliott, Eric Kendricks, and Royce Freeman. This move not only provides depth at the linebacker position but also adds experienced players to the Cowboys’ roster as they prepare for the upcoming season.
