“Boy Kills World” is a gory and violent film that follows the story of a deaf and voiceless orphan, portrayed by Bill Skarsgård. Rescued by a mysterious shaman, Boy is trained to become a deadly assassin seeking vengeance for his family’s murder. The film is set in a totalitarian regime ruled by the evil Van Der Koy family.
Skarsgård’s performance relies heavily on expressions and body language as he portrays the character of Boy. To prepare for the role, he underwent an impressive physical transformation, losing 20 pounds to build a lean and sinewy physique. Despite the lack of spoken dialogue from Skarsgård, the character’s inner voice is provided by H. Jon Benjamin, known for his work on “Bob’s Burgers.”
The cast includes Jessica Rothe, Isaiah Mustafa, Andrew Koji, Yayan Ruhian, Famke Janssen, Michelle Dockery, and Brett Gelman. Director Moritz Mohr aimed to create a film that he himself would enjoy watching, reminiscent of the movies he grew up with. The film is likened to a video game with hyper-realistic elements by Famke Janssen.
The interview with director Moritz Mohr and the cast members highlights themes of revenge, action, and martial arts. The film offers a unique and engaging cinematic experience that blends elements of action, drama, and dark humor.
“Boy Kills World” features a diverse cast and will be released in theaters soon.
