In Germany, the search for Arian, a 6-year-old boy with autism, has been ongoing for a week. On Sunday, over 1,200 people participated in the search in Bremervörde. Arian left his parents’ home last Monday and has been missing ever since. Police have stated that Arian is non-verbal and may not react if called.
The search teams have been working tirelessly to find Arian, but a large part of the forces will now take a break. On Sunday, a coordinated human chain was formed, consisting of about 800 people spanning 1,500 meters. The team systematically searched every corner of the area and found footprints believed to be Arian’s. However, it was later discovered that they belonged to someone else.
Police efforts have included officers on horses inspecting canals and drones searching the area. Various methods have been employed to attract Arian, such as playing loud music and setting off fireworks. The search has covered a wide area, including the river Oste. Despite extensive efforts, there is no evidence of foul play or possible wolf attacks.
The operational strategy of the search has been coordinated with an autism expert. Volunteers have inspected bins, sheds and garages while searchlights have been installed in the area to illuminate it better at night. The search continues as authorities strive to locate Arian safely.
