On Thursday, May 2, the University of Utah will hold its 155th general commencement to recognize the achievements of its graduates from Fall 2023, as well as Spring and Summer 2024. A total of 118 current or former Utah student-athletes are set to receive their degrees during this ceremony.
The University’s student-athletes have a history of academic success, with a 94% graduation rate in the most recent NCAA Graduation Success Rate (GSR) Report released in December 2023. This marks the sixth consecutive year that Utah’s score has been 93% or higher, ranking second in the Pac-12 conference behind Stanford.
The student-athletes who will be receiving their degrees come from a variety of sports programs at the university. These programs include baseball, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, cross country, track & field, football, golf, gymnastics, lacrosse, skiing, soccer, softball, men’s swimming & diving, women’s swimming & diving, men’s tennis, women’s tennis, beach volleyball and volleyball. This achievement highlights the dedication and hard work of these student-athletes both in their athletic pursuits and academic endeavors.
