In the world of beer, the 2024 World Beer Cup has undoubtedly earned its reputation as the “Olympics of beer competitions”. This year’s ceremony, held in Las Vegas, honored gold, silver and bronze medalists across a staggering 110 different beer styles. The event drew entries from breweries all over the globe, with over 290 judges from 37 countries evaluating nearly 9,300 beers from 2,060 breweries across 50 nations.
Among these prestigious winners was Exile Brewery Co. in Des Moines, Iowa. Their Munich-style dunkel beer known as G.G., faced off against an impressive lineup of 65 other beers from around the world and came out on top with a well-deserved silver medal. Blind Tiger Brewery & Restaurant in Topeka, Kansas also made history by securing the gold medal for their Munich Dunkles. Meanwhile Sturdy Shelter Brewing in Batavia, Illinois took home the bronze for their Wilson Street Dunkel.
