In the Memphis area high school spring sports scene, Week 10 of the 2024 season has brought out some top performers. On Monday in baseball, Caleb Lassiter of Briarcrest was instrumental in a 3-2 Game 1 victory over CBHS. As the winning pitcher, Aidan McCrady allowed four hits and struck out seven in 6.2 innings, while Ty Holman of CBHS allowed two hits and Hank Stalnaker had two hits. In Game 2, Taylor Brady of Briarcrest had a standout performance with two RBIs in a 4-3 win over CBHS. Carter Lamb was the winning pitcher in relief, and Caleb Lassiter earned the save.
In softball, Arlington’s Breleigh Bunker had an impressive game on Tuesday against Collierville. She was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored in a 10-5 victory for Arlington. Brittanie Layton was also outstanding as the winning pitcher for Arlington, while Grace Pentecost went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Arlington. Aliya Garcia of Brighton had a solid game on Monday against Munford with two hits on her way to helping her team win by a narrow margin of 3-2. Laney Lawson of Brighton pitched all six innings for his team on Monday, scattering six hits and earning them a well-deserved win over Munford. Adin Shelton also contributed to Brighton’s success by hitting a home run on Monday against Munford. Bradleigh Biggs from ECS stood out on Monday as well, going 2-for-4 with three runs scored in an impressive victory over Trinity Christian Academy. Lily Beth Carpenter made significant contributions to ECS’s success along with Robin Daughhetee, Julianna Lewis, Natalie Regel, and Neely Wilder all making important contributions to their team’s success this week.
