Twins welcome Carlos Correa back from injured list after 16-game absence due to strained rib cage muscle

The Minnesota Twins have welcomed back shortstop Carlos Correa, who has been reinstated from the 10-day injured list. He missed 16 games due to a strained right rib cage muscle.

While Correa was out, Willi Castro filled in at shortstop for the majority of the games. Despite not needing a rehabilitation assignment, Correa is now ready to rejoin the team as they face the Chicago White Sox in a three-game series.

To make room for Correa on the roster, the Twins have optioned multi-position player Austin Martin to Triple-A St. Paul. In his 22 games with the team, Martin batted .226 with 16 runs, six doubles, six walks, two steals, and one home run.

With Correa back in the lineup, the Twins are looking forward to having his offensive production and defensive skills on the field once again.
