The 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup will be held in the USA and the West Indies, and Uganda has been named as one of the teams participating. This will be Uganda’s first appearance in a senior men’s ICC World Cup in any format, marking a significant milestone for the team. Brian Masaba has been appointed as the captain of the squad, which includes 43-year-old Frank Nsubuga, an offspinning allrounder who will be the oldest player in the tournament. Riazat Ali Shah has been named as the vice-captain, while Ronald Lutaaya and Innocent Mwebaze will serve as the two travelling reserve players for the team.

Uganda qualified for the tournament from the Africa leg of the qualifiers, beating out teams like Zimbabwe to earn their spot. The team is placed in Group C alongside Afghanistan, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, and West Indies. They will play their first match against Afghanistan on June 4th at Providence, Guyana.
