Business North Carolina magazine has recognized UNC Charlotte Chancellor Sharon L. Gaber as one of the top business leaders in North Carolina for 2024. Gaber was honored in the education category for her efforts to expand research and increase Charlotte’s chances of receiving Carnegie R1 research classification by early 2025.

The selection process for the Power List was based on magazine-solicited nominations and interviews with sources conducted by Business North Carolina Editor David Mildenberg. Mildenberg is a 1992 Charlotte MBA alumnus with years of experience covering North Carolina’s business community.
