NewBo City Market in Cedar Rapids is launching a six-month entrepreneur training program called the FLO Business Hub starting on May 8. The program, which stands for Fellowship for Launching Opportunities, is designed to provide participants with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to succeed in a competitive business environment.
Participants in the FLO Business Hub program will meet three times a month for classes, peer review sessions, and networking events. Led by business professionals, the classes will cover topics such as writing business plans, establishing banking relationships, building brand identity, and developing marketing strategies.
The cost of the program is $249 per participant, with limited scholarships available for those who cannot afford the fee. This makes it accessible to people from all backgrounds and helps promote entrepreneurship in the community.
In addition to regular meetings and classes, Hub participants will also have access to insider information about opportunities at NewBo City Market, priority consideration for vendor rates and entry to monthly networking events. This provides them with valuable resources that can help them launch their own businesses successfully.
