On May 7, a tragic event occurred in Rio de Janeiro when Israeli woman Alma Buadana passed away. Alma had been living in Brazil for over three months before her untimely death. Her companion, who was with her at the time of her passing, claims they were walking when a motorcyclist or someone in a red car approached them, leading them to believe they were being robbed. In an attempt to escape, Alma fell from a 15-meter height near the rise to Corcovado.
However, there were inconsistencies in the companion’s testimonies that led authorities to suspect his involvement in Alma’s death. Homicide detectives are currently investigating all leads as it is unclear what really happened on that fateful day. It has been revealed that Alma had only recently met her companion at a hostel in Copacabana before the incident occurred. The tragic event took place on Almirante Alexandrino Boulevard, near Mount Corcovado, where Alma tragically fell to her death at around 7:00 PM on May 7th.
Alma had flown to Brazil three months ago and spent the initial 90 days in Salvador before moving on to Rio de Janeiro just ten days before she passed away. The Israeli Foreign Ministry has expressed their condolences and is assisting with transporting Alma’s body back to Israel for burial. As authorities continue their investigation into the events leading up to Alma’s accident, everyone involved is left wondering what could have caused such a terrible outcome.
