The Wachusett and St. Paul baseball teams faced off in a doubleheader at Tivnan Field in Worcester, Mass., on Monday, adding another chapter to their rivalry. The two teams split the doubleheader, with the first game going nine innings and ending in a 6-5 victory for Wachusett.
Wachusett got out to an early lead, scoring single runs in the second, third, and fourth innings to go up 3-0. However, St. Paul fought back and tied the game with three runs in the bottom of the fourth. In the seventh inning, Colon Kreuz had an RBI single that sent the game into extra innings. The decisive run came in the top of the ninth when Caden Lane scored for Wachusett.
During the game, Ethan DiVito hit a home run for Wachusett while Nate Roy had a strong performance going 3-4 with three RBI. On the mound, Matt Moreno for Wachusett and Nick Fennucio for St. Paul put up tough performances during the game.
