The world premiere of Gareth Farr’s A Child of Science will be held at Bristol Old Vic, with performances beginning on June 5th. The play, led by Tom Felton, known for his role in the Harry Potter films, delves into the creation of IVF in fertility treatment. Opening night is scheduled for June 11th, with the run continuing through July 6th.
Tom Felton will play the role of Robert Edwards, one of the pioneering doctors behind IVF. The cast will also include Jamie Glover, Meg Bellamy, Adelle Leonce, Sonoya Mizuno, and Sheena Steptoe. Other cast members include Saikat Ahamed, Gruffudd Glyn, Bobby Hirston, Amy Loughton, Bebe Sanders, and Everal A Walsh. Directed by Matthew Dunster, who has a personal connection to the subject matter as he had a child through IVF, the play explores the revolutionary treatment.
