In East Helena, a new business has opened its doors. Brewer Creek Axe Throwing, a mobile axe-throwing trailer, started operations on Tuesday, April 16. Ten people spent the evening learning and practicing their axe-throwing skills at the grand opening event.
Keith Brewer, one of the owners of the business, explains that axe coaches teach participants how to properly throw the axe to hit the target. The trailer is equipped with safety gear and offers other activities like cornhole, ladder golf, and Montana yard dice for those waiting for their turn to throw axes. Friendly competitions and the opportunity to try different axes are also part of the experience.
The idea for a mobile axe-throwing trailer was born through Keith and Galen Brewer’s love of travel. They noticed axe-throwing was a popular activity in cities like Spokane and Missoula and wanted to bring that experience back to the Helena area. The trailer was built in November and had a soft launch earlier this year before being stationed at Missouri River Brewing in East Helena on Thursday and Friday nights.
For the upcoming summer season, Brewer Creek Axe Throwing will be at Copper Furrow Brewing on Wednesday nights, Missouri River Brewing on Thursday nights, and Lewis and Clark Brewery on Sunday afternoons. The goal of the business is to provide a fun and unique experience for people in the Helena area.
