Bartlesville High Baseball’s District Season Comes to an End with a Win
On Tuesday evening, Bartlesville High baseball concluded its District season with a victory over Muskogee at Rigdon Field. The Bruins secured a two-game sweep with a score of 4-1, giving a memorable night to their senior players.
The team took control of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning with three runs, maintaining their lead until the end. A string of six consecutive batters reaching base, five through singles, allowed Bartlesville to score first. Brett Eaves’ base hit drove in Brenden Asher to kickstart the scoring, with help from a Muskogee error.
Brenden Asher delivered an outstanding performance in his final pitching appearance at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium as a Bruin. He pitched a complete seven innings, allowing only one unearned run while working around seven hits. Asher struck out five of the seven batters in the last two innings, including a crucial strikeout to end the game.
With the District season now complete, Bartlesville will eagerly anticipate its Regional pairing as they prepare for the postseason. The playoffs are expected to begin next week on either Wednesday or Thursday, providing the team with an opportunity to continue their successful momentum.
