Receive complimentary health screenings during Detroit’s Public Health Week

During Public Health Week in Detroit, residents can receive free health screenings and participate in activities promoting a healthy lifestyle from April 1 through April 6. Hosted by the Detroit Health Department, this event is open to all and does not require appointments, IDs, or health insurance to participate.

The department is collaborating with Detroit police precincts, recreation centers, and other community partners to facilitate the screenings and activities. This year’s theme is “Centering and Celebrating Culture in Health.” Residents can take advantage of various screenings and activities such as blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, and kidney function checks, HIV and syphilis testing, fitness classes, CPR training, Narcan training and kit distribution, mental health makeovers, lead screenings, and a men’s panel discussion called “Cuts and Conversations.”

Events will be held at the Detroit Health Department, Detroit police precincts
